The female frontwoman for Ume looks like a sweetheart but certainly delivers some punk-filled angst as well as gentle harmonies. The punk(ish) trio from Austin, TX is following up on a busy touring schedule with an EP titled Sunshower due out Feb. 24. With some scattered tour dates set over the next couple months, the band also intends to begin working on a full-length album. The song “Sunshower” is a slower, entrancing song that flows along quite gently for a punk-influenced group. “Conductor” has more energy, bordering on something between experimental punk and indie rock.
