Kraftwerk Co-Founder Splits

Kraftwerk

Forty years is a long time for any relationship these days - or any day for that matter. So it should be without much boo-hoo that the boys of Kraftwerk made it this far. Four decades after founding one of Germany’s most influential electronic outfits with Ralf Hutter, Florian Schneider has decided to call it quits. Although the group is reported to move on without him, Schneider will surely be missed; he has been cited by many musical acts over the years as a cornerstone for their own sound including David Bowie and can be heard in anything from Depeche Mode to Joy Division.

But alas, keep moving or you die big fish. And so is the mantra of Kraftwerk who has gone without much of Schneider’s assistance throughout 2008 and its tours.
