stream: A Block of Yellow asks “Are You Sure?”
I blame Rush. That is, I blame them for the deluge of Canadian bands with major presence in the American musical landscape. There are so many nowadays that it won’t be long before we’re all singing “O Canada” and no one knows who Elvis is anymore. That being said, A Block of Yellow is a part of the problem. The London, Ontario band even goes so far as to incorporate a Kinksesque sound in their music, so as to point out that even though the British invaded us before, we’re letting it happen again. Don’t let their silly vocals and simple melodies fool you; this is war. In fact, we need some kind of counterstrike; does anyone know where Katy Perry is?
