Living Things’ Habeas Corpus Commands Your Body In Feb ‘09

Living Things

The Jonny Rotten of politics is back and and their looking to let the love rain all over your sorry self. Living Things, recently named an alternative “Buzz” band by the radio trade magazine FMQB, have released a new single, “Let It Rain,” from their forthcoming album Habeas Corpus.  Promisingly for the St. Louis quartet—the brothers Lillian, Eve, and Bosh Berlin, plus guitarist Cory Becker—the track hit #1 on FMQB’s Specialty Chart.  Habeas Corpus, their second full-length album, is due out February 17, 2009, on Jive Records.

Lillian Berlin, the band’s singer-songwriter, has said that he has “always looked at rain as being divine semen.”  Well.  If you must make a song that shares a title with one of Eric Clapton’s, then one sure way to make your “Let it Rain” a little different from his—besides the Queens of the Stone Age-meets-Guster vibe—is to gloss it as an invitation to a heavenly wad-shot.  But what if, as the graffito said, Clapton is God?
