stream: Merge Reissues Volcano Suns Releases
When seminal post-punk act Mission of Burma broke up in 1983 (or took a 19 year break as it turned out), drummer Peter Prescott sought to fill the void with his group Volcano Suns. The band released two albums, Bright Orange Years and All Night Lotus Party, both originally released on Homestead Records. Why the reissue you say? Well, the 80s were a very different time, and those two fine albums didn’t even see release on compact disc. Come January 29th, Merge Records is going to correct by releasing both albums on CD. Welcome to the future, Volcano Suns.
