The Decemberists Announce 2008 Tour Dates
Portland’s chief peddlers of chamber pop are at it again. The Decemberists have announced a smattering of 2008 tour dates, starting this November after election day. The band is supporting the release of its singles collection Always the Bridesmaid: A Single Series, the first volume of which is due out October 14th, and includes the tracks ‘Valerie Plame’ and ‘O New England’; the second and third volumes are due out on digital download and 12″ vinyl November 4th and December 2nd, respectively.
The band also has a tour-teasing performance on Late Night with Conan O’Brien scheduled for November 3rd. Singles not enough? Don’t worry, The Decemberists are currently at work on their next full-length with producer Tucker Martine, who produced 2006’s The Crane Wife.
