Move over ladies, Anni Rossi is ready to dominate the music world. The now Chicago-based musician is prepared to wow audiences with her debut EP Afton. Rossi is an accomplished classically trained musician, concentrating on viola within her own work. Many aspects of Afton are classically inspired but it’s nothing like the serious orchestral arrangements she learned to play from. Rossi’s single ‘Wheelpusher’ is an eclectic folk tune with plunky horns and mellow strings. The EP is a predecessor to her full-length album and Rossi is currently collaborating with producing veteran Steve Albini to finish it for an early 2009 release date.
