Madlib (Otis Jackson Jr., Quasimoto, The Beat Konducta) may be the only musician to have more aliases’ than albums. However, he has made his way through the Hip-Hop hierarchy to be crowned as one of the most influential talents in the industry to date. His work has revolutionized an era and brought substance and innovation to the forefront of his craft. His upcoming album, WLIB AM: King of the Wigflip is set to drop on September 30th and will be a highly anticipated event for all music enthusiasts. Although, worlds apart from his previous helium-junkie alter ego Quasimoto, this anthology will prove to be a tipping point for the Hip-Hop nation.

The dimensionally diverse Madlib has set his sights high with this upcoming release embarking on a journey through a complex compilation of contemporary, stable and progressive music. The multi-talented producer/rapper/purveyor of beats has a long history of working with many hip-hop superstars including former Barely Breaking Even label mate J Dilla (R.I.P), Pete Rock and Jazzy Jeff. This myriad knowledge and imparted wisdom will undoubtedly make Madlib’s presence felt this fall with the launching of Wigflip. The album will be a marriage of jazz-fusion, prominent sampling, and vocal stability, lyrically bringing intelligent, often, overlooked socioeconomic themes and paradoxical struggles for the “Beat Generation” to relish in.
