stream: The Little Ones Cuddle Up To ‘Morning Tide’; Tour

Slated for release on October 7th, 2008, Los Angeles’ cheerful quartet, The Little One’s debut album, Morning Tide is set to charm all the stereos, headphones and computer speakers across America. The Little One’s sonic pocket is filled to the brim with sweetened chunking guitar and vocal melodies that hint at the wistfulness of the Zombies and the smooth harmony of ’70s-era Beach Boys.
Their single, ‘Morning Tide’ is a mix of dance hall drums with lazy guitar slides and sheepish “doo-doo-doo” interludes. Quite the sun-spattered patch of shade to kick things off right. It’s a challenge to feel negative and dour after hearing such an elated tune. Quickly to follow is the bubblegum-overload of ‘Ordinary Song’, which pretty much sounds like a highway road trip to the beach. And this time you remembered the suntan lotion.

So what does a band do when an album of theirs is being released in specific places? Why, they tour in those places, of course! Those marketing moguls certainly have something going there. They will be alongside The Walkmen. As the leaves turn brown and orange, you can be reminded of the sunny breezes of summer when The Little Ones come around to you’re town in October.
