We Are Scientists Tour
In an age of lean, mean and arrogant, We Are Scientists manage to be lean, not so mean and fairly humble about it. The New York-based quartet (only pictured as a trio) synthesizes their pop creations in an immediate but sweetened creation. They have all the thinly driven rhythms of a post-punk revivalist group, however, this time on their newest album, Brain Thrust Mastery, they utilize this rapid foundation to support a cadre of melodic progression and needling guitar solos. Add to this reverbed and multi-tracked vocals (which sounds more like a vocorder) and you’ve got a science experiment that just needs to be tested.
And of course with all scientific method there are anomalies to be factored in. Songs like “Spoken For” and “Chick Lit” hint at a bubbling directional change for We Are Scientists. It remains to be seen, but for now they are going on tour.
Catch them testing their hypothesis and conclusions as they tour the States supporting Kings of Leon, October through November. Better yet, catch them now as they spark things up with Oxford Collapse.
