Digital Release on the Horizon for The Twilight Sad

Rather than an indication of a new, future direction for The Twilight Sad, the 6-track mini-album is rather a contemporaneous alternative: another version of the band’s sound, evolving alongside that found on Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters, last year’s LP that found itself a staple on many Best Of lists.
The mini-album features two new tracks - a sympathetic but wholly original take on Daniel Johnston’s heartfelt paean to lost love “Some Things Last a Long Time,” and the title track itself, “Here It Never Snowed. Afterwards It Did.” The remainder of the cuts, however, are stripped back, reconstructed versions of songs found on last year’s album. Guitarist Andy MacFarlane explains: “We wanted to record re-worked versions of some songs from Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters, as we felt there was another side to some o them that worked just as well as the originals. The idea came about from playing certain gigs or sessions with amore basic line-up or just fan organ, glockenspiel and percussion.”
Judging by their past efforts, it’ll be the don’t miss 6-track Scottish mini-album of the year.
