aLive: Rock Falls @ Martyrs’
Chicago based Rock Falls brought their brand of sultry crooning sound to the stage at Martyrs’. The group opened with a sensational version of ‘Tonight Tonight’ off their 7? EP led by the elegantly mischievous vocals of Annie Reese. Cobbled by both Dan Schneider on the strings and Gary Pyskacek dueling percussions and trumpet, the trio transformed from finger-popping blues numbers (‘Sunrise’) to flirty ragged riff pop (‘Walla Walla’). Even the famed ukulele had its own spotlight - literally; both on stage and in closer ‘ILYT’.
