aLive: Explosions In The Sky

Explosions In The Sky
Congress Theater - Chicago, IL
April 1st 2008

Texas knows two things: football and cinematic rock. Austin based Explosions in the Sky rained down their lightening quick guitars and thundering drums to a packed Congress Theater in Chicago last night for a set that didn’t stop for over an hour and a half. The band - best known for their soundtrack work on the semi-biographical drama Friday Night Lights, showed that they are the kings of feedback and the purveyors of passion by jamming a perfect ‘Catastrophe And The Cure’ and a thrilling ‘Magic Hour’ that should go down in history as their greatest moment live.
