video: Get ‘Enchanted’ by Roommate
Chicago’s Empty Bottle will host the release for Chicago-based Roommate’s second LP, We Were Enchanted. The album was recorded between November 2006 and October 2007 in various spaces all over the city with over twenty musicians supporting, many of whom will be making an appearance during the Empty Bottle release party at 10:00 PM on Saturday, April 19th.
Plug Research will release the album in CD and digital form on April 15th, with the vinyl-only label Shrug Records releasing 500 copies of the 180g vinyl edition.
Roommate combines well-crafted acoustic and electronic rhythms with contemporary and existential lyrics that ultimately summon a cathartic response. Chicago filmmaker Kenny Reed directed the video for the title track, a grainy, eerie project shot in one take on hand-processed 16mm film.
