Thurston Moore may be the Sundance Festival’s Parker Posey of SXSW this year; he sure deserves the spirit award if anything. Sharing a bill with Dinosaur Jr.’s J. Mascis and femme fatal led Be Your Own Pet, he not only whaled the guitar but also a stage hand to everyone else. He adjusted Mascis’ amp during his set and coached the riotous Be Your Own Pet when the sound died.
The Sonic Youth old hand played his own brand of psych jams and tension building chords that wowed even to the Lou Reed encore.
