Pitchfork Music Festival ‘08 Announced

Urban hipsters unite; the Pitchfork Music Festival has announced its first wave of acts for their much beloved summer festival at Chicago’s Union Park. Scheduled to appear over a three day span from July 18th thru July 20th will be the likes of Chk Chk Chk (!!!), M. Ward (no word if it will be the Him and Her version), Vampire Weekend and Animal Collective. To be announced are still a dozen more acts but what we are truly jazzed about is the return of Pitchfork’s All Tomorrow’s Parties/Don’t Look Back feature which will focus on Public Enemy this year performing It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back. That’s right; relive your juvenile days when you adorned Parental Advisory gear and spat CB4 quotes as the pioneers of ghetto rhymes and Senate button pushers Public Enemy take stage performing the entire album for one night only.
Tickets for the event go on sale Wednesday March 12th in single day options set at $30 while a limited number of two and three day initial packages will go for $50 and $65 respectively. Get them at pitchforkmusicfestival.com.
