stream: Lyrics Born is ‘Everywhere At Once’
Funk fantastic East Bay MC Lyrics Born has announced the first single off his forthcoming studio effort Everywhere At Once due out April 22nd. The single ‘I Like It, I Love It’ is ready for digital and cd droppage on February 19th complete with a very radio friendly sound - something arguably missing from his past efforts (despite how damn good they were and becoming attached to such commercials like Diet Coke and Nokia). His first studio album in almost five years: Everywhere is expected to turn up the dial on club mixes and down on the free style hip hop of his last effort - the superb 2003 Later That Day. From what we’ve heard so far, its been worth the wait. His shows have become more funk oriented over the past few years taking a front seat to the turn table style he originally breast fed from.
Born will also be appearing at this years SXSW in Austin on March 13th. If you haven’t seen one of his live shows, you are missing a truly original live hip-hop act; complete with full band and spinners alike. The man sweats rhythm.
